My first trip to Washington Island in Door County, WI was with the goal of photographing this Stavkirke. The trip was purposely planned to happen during the peak of Fall colors. The entire trip was spectacularly colorful.

This church was built in the 1990s using drawings of one built in Burgund, Norway in 1150 AD.

Great capture! Door county is beautiful in the fall. Never got a chance to go up to Washington Island tho' when I lived in the NEW area.

Thank you!

I lived in La Crosse, WI for 25+ years and moved just outside of Madison in 2017. This was my first ever trip to Door County AND Washington Island. We're already planning a trip for next Fall! Absolutely gorgeous!
