Last year I changed systems, used Olympus/Panasonic cameras from the start of digital photography.
Apart from the first years I have always shot raw and preferred the results over the camera jpegs.
Used adobe for a long time, first on laptop and later on my ipad.
But when subscriptions became more expensive I bought Affinity 2 and was quite satisfied with the results.
Now that I have the R50 the colours from the camera look more natural than the Affinity output. So much better that I want to look at another editor.
I want to edit as little as possible, in Affinity I look at sharpening/noise reduction, white balance and light levels.

Any recommendations on ipad editors that work well with the Canon raw files?
I think working in raw gives more flexibility to change white balance, lift shadows etc.
I just tried Nitro photo and colours were almost the same as with Affinity.

Here a comparison between the camera jpeg (first photo) and Affinity output. The latter is always a bit greenish.
I can probably tweak the colours if I want to but I simply don’t want to spend ages editing each photo.

Hi, Jan.

I looked at the two images you posted. They both look fine to me on my computer. Neither looks green to me.

Canon DPP4 is great for editing photos. It is free.

I use Lightroom Classic and am happy with it. I'm not familiar with other photo editors, but I'm pretty sure they are all very capable. It should be a matter of only a couple seconds to get rid of a color cast if there is one.

Make sure your monitor is calibrated if you want accurate colors.

I find editing photos to be fun and creative. But if you don't like editing, then the best thing is to shoot JPG and use the photos as they are created by the camera.

To my eyes, the second image has a green-ish tint that the first does not have. I switched to DxO PhotoLab last year, and it automatically corrects the colors depending on the camera/lens profile. I happen to have the R50, so here's a sample Canon RAW image I took last year with no manual edits. 1) Luminar Neo with R50 Camera Faithful profile; 2) DxO PhotoLab with R50 Camera Body profile. To my eye, DxO offers a consistently better starting point for the editing process.

Edit: Oops. I just remembered this post is about an iPad editor, and DxO doesn't work on the iPad. Skylum offers a mobile version of Luminar for the iPad. For what it's worth, I was happy with Luminar until I tried DxO. https://skylum.com/luminar-for-ipad
