I went down to our local park along the San Jacinto River to see if any birds were around. I found an egret and a heron so I sat for a while watching them through my camera. I've gotten pretty good at anticipating when they will strike when in pursuit of a meal. So I got a nice batch of 4 images. At first I was going to remove the aluminum can in the background. I never actually noticed it when I was taking the pictures, only after in post. I know most big wildlife photo contests won't allow you to add or remove elements with editing. And I guess the reality is that, sadly, there is trash everywhere.

I have to agree - take it out.

Great set of photos. I would make copies and edit them.

Sad that it's a sign of the times we live in BUT yes - I would remove it as it distracts from an awesome sequence of shots

Also a yes, unless you're posting about the sad state of affairs of folks' behavior. In that context, you're photo does make a significant statement. Otherwise, you captured an incredible moment. Remove the trash.

If it's your image, for your own uses - anything goes.

Hunt down the person responsible and remove them.

Yeah, I’m with the others - don’t let someone else’s irresponsibility ruin your photo.

Depends on the use. You can edit the pic any way you want, but you have to respect the policies of where the photo is used.

I have removed trash from an image, but in the images above, it would be very difficult to get a "seamless result"....

Bryan
