When The Audubon Society released the illustrations of J J Audubon, I downloaded quite a few although I am not a birder. The feeling of his illustrations, which appeals to me, is somewhat reflected in this photograph.

Thanks for your comment and the Audubon link, Cemal. I wonder how much of the likeness is due to the white background. In my photo, the sky was essentially blown out as I was exposing for the bird, whereas Audubon was drawing on white paper.
 
That whiteness is certainly a part of the similarity. Also, the branches wandering and the bird connecting with the viewer all contribute. It is a shared feeling more than anything else.
