I just returned from my first trip to Yellowstone. The sheer size of the park was a bit overwhelming, and even with a private guide it was not all that easy to find wildlife within shooting distance. But I did see a good variety of critters in the Lamar and Hayden Valleys, and will be sure to make my next visit in May or June, when more wildlife will be out and about and there will be plenty of birds around as well.

All images were taken with my R5 and a Sigma f/5-6.3 150-600mm lens, mostly handheld.

Great shots. Finding wolf and fox in the park is not easy given the size of the park and the skittish nature of those animals.

TY 🙏🏻 . I was not particularly interested in looking at black dots through a spotting scope, which is the only way I was going to see wolves. I guess I was pretty lucky to see a red fox on three different occasions, not to mention a mama moose and her two calves.

Wow, you took some amazing pictures! The mammals you took pictures of are in such wonderful condition at this time of year with their thick coats in preparation for winter. In the spring the birds will be at their best with their breeding plumage. I enjoyed seeing your pictures.
