We hope you enjoy creating fantastic images this month!

Have fun - but stay safe and well…

Any R System images can be posted. If you would like to say something about the subject, settings, or processing, that will be very welcome.

Remember, you don't have to only post things you took this month - sometimes people don't get around to processing/ editing images straight away. (Think of it more as an ‘images I’d like to post here this month’ sort of thing). Images taken with non-R System lenses are also very welcome as this adds to the interest.

Images posted on this thread will also be available to view in the dedicated Monthly R System Images Gallery.

Commenting on people’s posts is encouraged, as it keeps everyone interested and coming back. (Please try to be considerate, thoughtful and constructive).

We aim to provide feedback - but note we are away for part of each month and busy with ‘life stuff’. The lack of a comment from us is not a sign of disfavour!

Finally, please post in accordance with the RF Shooters Community Guidelines.

Thank you!

Keen-eyed viewers may spot the first of our ‘Post Cards from Guernsey’, featuring Guernsey and Herm in the Channel Islands, has taken a little while to arrive.

(Shot raw and processed using: DxO PL Elite/ Viewpoint, Adobe LrC/ PS with Tony Kuyper Panels and Topaz Labs Studio. Karen used our Sony RX10 IV on this trip, so you’re stuck with Phil’s images. Well, officially - some insets may slip a tad off-piste. Don't tell Tim... ).

You can find out more about the Islands of Guernsey by clicking Here, Castle Cornet Here and Sausmarez Manor Here.

1. St Peter Port is the main town and port on Guernsey and the capital of the Bailiwick of Guernsey. Amongst many other things, it features the closest pub (the Albion) to a church (the Parish Church of St Peter Port) in the British Isles - they are just a few feet apart.

2. Castle Cornet sits on an island just off the coast of St Peter Port (now being connected by a causeway). This major fortification was constructed to defend the harbour, town and island. The noon day gun is still fired from the curtain battery (and ‘yes’, it is incredibly loud!).

3. Top - A short stroll along the coast from St Peter Port sits Fermain Bay (top), which features a pre-Martello Loophole Tower (and a delightful cafe!). Lower (L to R) - the remains of the WWII German railway lines, the Victoria Tower and the Little Chapel.

4. Owing to its strategic importance, Guernsey has an abundance of military infrastructure from various eras, some structures have been repurposed (e.g. as museums).

5. Sausmarez Manor has sections dating back to the late 12th/ early 13th century. The front façade, considered the finest example of Queen Anne Colonial architecture in Britain, was constructed between 1714 and 1718 at the request of Sir Edmund Andros, the first Governor of New York. (The House came into his grandfather's family via marriage and returned to the de Sausmarez family in 1748 by purchase - funded from the bounty of the capture of the Nusetra Senora da Capa Donga, the world's richest treasure ship!).

6. Shell Beach on Herm Island is about a 20-30 minute stroll from the drop-off point of the ferry over from Guernsey. It is popular for water sports (and also features a delightful cafe!).

Thanks for sharing these wonderful images. The wife and I visited Jersey last summer but didn't make it over to Guernsey. Maybe next time.

Now the most important question: did you eat a Potato Peel Pie? ;)
