Last Sunday, I decided to do a hike up a local mountain (Mt. Hongu 本宮山) on a hot and humid sunny day. Lots of sweat, but nice to get out on a dry day during the rainy season. At the top, there's an upper shrine that's part of a main shrine below in the City of Toyokawa (Toga Jinja 砥鹿神社), as well as the actual summit a little above, which affords great views of Toyokawa and Toyohashi City, and the Atsumi Peninsula, which separates the Pacific Ocean from the Mikawa Bay.
