Just checked count on internet app wondering how accurate count is.
R5 says 239,000 seems way too high. But I did buy it second hand.
Not sure wether to move it on or use till it dies as there are still brand new R5 mark ones out there, ive got no need for features of r5 mark2
You might think im a dill but hate to sell r5 to someone as there first camera after using phones all there life only to have it break down.
Whats most common cause of death shutter failure?
And last question can they be refurbished if it occurs or not worth it

cheers lads and lasses

Your shutter count, if 239,000 were the exact number, is only 47.8% of the expected 500,000 actuations the shutter is rated at. Of course, no one knows how long your shutter will last. It could fail today, or still be clicking away at 1 million. There apparently was a used R5 offered for sale by a pro sports photographer and it had 900,000 actuations and was still working perfectly.

Now, having said the above, when I see the number 239,000, that seems extremely high. But I know it isn't. I am from the generation of dslr users when 100,000 was the expected life of a shutter. 25 years ago, 239,000 actuations would have been unbelieveable.

In the end, if you are uneasy about the number then you have to ease your mind. You might buy a new camera and that shutter fails in the first week...that would be my luck.
