I have recently purchased a Canon R5M2, my first mirrorless camera. My initiation to photography was two years ago while I was in hospital, laid up for a couple of weeks following surgery. I got sick of listening to Crime podcasts and was seeking something different and for whatever reason choose to listen to "So You Want to be a Photographer" - an Australian podcast presented by Gina Milicia and Valerie Khoo. I listened to dozens of episodes before being released and decided that I was going to photography a go. I purchased a second Canon 5D3 and worked my way thru podcasts and YT and practice. I have now retired, turning 70 tomorrow, and my early birthday present to myself was the R5M2. This is a huge step for me and with practice, attending workshops and forums such as this, I hope to shoot photos half as good as I see here. I welcome critique, tips, advice and will seek as much assistance as I can get. Enjoy your photography.

Hello and Welcome!

...and Happy Birthday!

You'll love the R5II - it is such alot of fun to shoot! I wish all the other vendors would adopt the Canon FV Mode, very handy!

Welcome!! Excellent photos! Looks like you are off to a great start. There are some great photographers on this site (not me), and they are very generous with their time and expertise. Keep posting photos!
