I started taking pictures at our lake when the pandemic shut down the concerts. Photos of birds and such are far more challenging than concert photos! Light constantly changes and movement is unpredictable. Add to that the size of my subjects and it's really kicking my butt! I admire you folks that are getting such great photos. I have found that learning the animals I see is great fun! The kingfisher is my White Whale, just can't get good pics of them.....
In this set Grebe, Kingfisher, pelicans red shoulder hawk black vulture and a meadow lark. All taken around St Louis
Looks like a killdeer and a redheaded woodpecker snuck in there too!

Nice one Don. I’m the same, started snapping wild life because of Covid, gives you a heightened awareness and appreciation of the subject matter especially the challenges of capturing it well. Currently on the Isle of Arran snapping away. Grabbed a shot of this Oyster Catcher, first time I’ve ever seen one let alone got a shot of one!

Wonderful photo Congratulations! I have never get anything near as nice as this!!

Nice collection of photos Don. If you have not already done so .... download the Merlin app to your phone. It helps you identify a bird by a photo that you have taken. Very handy app
