I've pre-ordered an R7 and have got myself a new 100-400 L IS ii to go with it. I am looking at using more EF / EFS lenses as the R7 has in body IS i'm thinking I could get some good quality glass for a reasonable price. Has anyone had experience using older glass with an R7? my target woud be something like a 24-70 f2.8 or similar

I have a Tamron SP 24-70 f/2.8 Di VC USD A007E (Gen 1) that I could test on my R7. I have both the standard and control ring adapters I can try, too. I’m curious if I’ll get the same “Err 70” message I get on the R6 when using the control ring adapter.

If I do get the chance test it, I’m sure my subjects will just be inanimate objects around my work area. 😊

I have been using my EF-S 55-250mm on the R7 and have had no problems except my lack of photography skills 😝.

I got My r7 yesterday and have been out testing it with my ef lenses, I have a tamron 150- 600 f5-6.3 and a canon 70-200 f2.8 L . They both worked fine with the adapter but I felt the canon was a bit quicker to focus. I Would very much like to try a matched lens to compare ….. the photography show in Birmingham is on soon, I may not be able to resist ! I would love to hear your thoughts once you have tried an older lens .

Fast, sharp, and lightweight! A great lens
This is my main workhorse of a lens and I love it. It's very light weight (only around 2.3 lbs) lens. I've been able to hand-hold it for an event...
