Nice. We drove through there once but I don't remember anything growing there. I remember cooking hotdogs on the hot rocks once :) That was many years ago. Not much better up here north of you just over the US border. Late spring like last year.
 
We are just above you in Manitoba so we had the same winter. We see them around the cities parks and they look OK this year but often people feed them. Next time we take a drive outside the city I'll see if I spot any.
 
Just got an inch and half of rain in 2 days - things are turning green now.
 
We got about an inch or so a few weeks ago and then nothing. Getting a good slow rain here today.
Much needed rain for the farmers here
