Images from our visit earlier this year to Kenilworth Castle, Warwickshire, England. (Refugees from DPReview may experience some deja-vu... :cool:).

1. The Norman keep (right) was built in the 1120’s, the tower block (left) was added in 16th century and the apartments (rear) are 14th century. The castle was home to many great and powerful people including John of Gaunt and King Henry V.

2. The 16th century Gatehouse was built by Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester.

4. The castle hosted Queen Elizabeth I during 19 days of lavish festivities in 1575.

Dudley built the Elizabethan extension for Lizzy and she never visited. But on the other hand, he never fell out of favour and kept his head. I think the colour of the stone at Kenilworth is remarkable and makes for excellent shots. Haven't visited since 2009. Good work!
