What Photography Related Item Have You Bought or Sold This Week?

I'm not sure if it counts as bought, but I got this for fathers day :D

Bought the 800f11 refurb for $499, half price of a new one.
Gives me a chance to practice shooting at 1280mm eq. on the R7 while waiting for the 200-800 to show up.

I bought the RF 100-400 today. Going to test it out now

I've been looking for a second-hand RF 100-500 and was just about to buy one from Wex, when I found that new lenses were £500 off, so I managed to get a new one for less than I was going to pay for a used one!

First impression - what idiot decided to put the control ring  there? lol

Could not agree more!!! Cannot be used.

I got a new strap over the weekend, a Peak Design Slide Lite, as well as a matching PD Cuff for when I don't need to walk around with the camera over my shoulder. My previous strap has served me well for almost a decade, but it's starting to show some signs of wear, and only cost $10 in the first place, so it doesn't owe me anything at this point. Plus, carrying around a camera and lens collectively worth a couple grand on a $10 strap seemed silly.
I bought a PD Slide a few weeks ago, to go with my PD Clutch. I've only used it a few times, but already I love the quick-release mechanism.

My only complaint would be that the padded section is too stiff to bend in half, making it difficult to fold the strap as small as I'd like when it's not being used, but that's not a showstopper.

I might get another one, to replace the aging strap on my backup 5D mk III...

Had a friend reach out about some realty photography needs and realized, of course, that I didn’t have the right lens for work of that type. Boo hoo, let’s go shopping! Ended up with an RF 15-30mm. It’s not fast by any means, but it’s wide enough. Pretty cheap at $400 bucks….can’t beat it.

RF 100-400 for me, yesterday - got to play a little and it seemed pretty good, both in AF speed and as a semi-macro - will post something in the next few days.

Peak Design products are awesome. I love my Slide as well as my Peak Design Cuff. I forgot my Clip...love that thing as well while moving around with a backpack.

The Clip was the first bit of PD kit that I bought. A great idea, and brilliantly engineered. Don't know how I managed without one for so long!

Just bought a secondhand RF 15-35 2.8 for the wife, looks brand new and she is well pleased - looking forward to Canada next year even more now ;-)

Well it’s not totally photography related but I bought and put together a standing desk for my editing work (and occasional video gaming or e-sports as the kids call it now)

I was at a model shoot a couple of days ago and my Godox XPro trigger failed. Pulling the battery didn't help, nor did percussive measures. Fortunately we were outdoors with great overcast lighting, and it was possible to get many good shots with natural light. Plus, I was able to borrow a trigger from others who were there. But it was scary, and I had shoots coming up in the next week.

Amazon to the rescue! In less than 24 hours I had a new Godox X3 trigger in my hands.

This little gem is the latest model with a nifty touch-screen interface. It features a Li-Ion battery, which can't be replaced when dead, so I have to be very mindful of its charge state.

Ordered 2 infrared filters in a 43mm size. One is a 720 nm and the other an 850 nm. They are for my EF-M 32mm f/1.8 lens, not for an RF lens but photo related. I'm doing more BW portraiture with infrared. Funny, but the first one was ordered on Amazon Friday and will be here today. The other on Ebay from China, should take 1-2 weeks.

I didn't post at the time, but a week or so I received my refurb/new EF 11-24. Wow! This is a cool lens. So wide, yet not fisheye at all. You can stand arm's length from someone else and have all of them in the frame. Sample images hardly do it justice; they look so normal but you are SO CLOSE!

New is/was $3000, but there is now an RF10-20 and this was on the refurb store for $1300.

That would be a nice lens to have.

Godox V1 round flash now fills the vacancy left by my old (15 years?) flash that didn't die from over-work, but from a quiet life that simply didn't last far into new tech age. We'll see good this one is when the need for it arises.

Forgot about this post... A few months back a second EOS R5 body (back up camera) as they were on sale. Recently, an RF 85mm f1.2 L USM lens (I know I'm going to have fun with this one) and a SIRUI AM-404FL , 74.8 Inch Aluminum Travel Monopod with Removable Base with a SIRUI Quick Release Plate Kit with 360° Rotating Panoramic Head and a SIRUI Camera Tripod Ball Head (needed a monopod and chose this for its excellent reviews). All spent out now (for now😂😂😂😂).

Using the discount for Prime day at amazon I got two Powerextra LP-E6NH High Capacity Batteries 2950mAh, $38 including taxes. I'll fully test them this weekend so far I can report that it's recognized by the R6 as a LP-E6HN battery. I do not think that it will give me the promised 2950 mAh but as long as it gives me more than the Canon OEM I'm a happy camper considering that 1 Canon OEM battery is $78 (I can get 4 of those Powerextra).

Godox Studio flash kit, will get first use when the weather turns and i cant shoot outside

Make no mistake everyone. I have GAS! More camera gear to come😂😂

I am looking forward to hearing your results. Especially shot count before needing charging compared to the OEM.

Well, I'm happy to report that I'm getting more shots than using the OEM. You have to keep in mind that in my experience all these batteries rated on 2600 mAh or 2900 mAh do not give you what they are advertising. In this specific case I'm getting around 15 ~ 20% more shots than the OEM battery. And the best of all is that my R6 recognize the battery as a LP-E6HN.

So definitely I recommend these batteries.

Nothing R related but I did receive 2 infrared filters from a store in China on Ebay for my converted M5 camera. I got a 720 nm and 850 nm in a 43mm filter size. Nicely packaged and both seem to be of high quality and were not expensive.
