What Photography Related Item Have You Bought or Sold This Week?

Just sold my R5MII. Not enough of an upgrade from my R6MII to justify the price (was having serious buyer's remorse). Lost about the equivalent of 40 USD in the process. I'll call that a rental fee. All good now, and I have an even greater appreciation for the capabilities of my R6MII.

Had the opportunity to use one for a week and I walked away thinking the larger EVF is nice. I ended up with an R3 and I am real pleased with the purchase. The R5 MkII is nice but my MkI suits me just fine when I want more MP.

There were certainly features to like, but for me, the image noise was disappointing...even at lower ISOs.

Agreed, but like you I didn't notice are marked improvement in the R5 MkII as it related to noise reduction. I tend to spend time in the woods so low light is a given for me and the R3 was better suited then the R5 MkII and the R3 offered upgraded features. The 45 MP would have been nice but not a requirement.

And please don't get me wrong, it is a nice camera but I did not feel compelled to upgrade over my current R5 based on the features.

I have been more than happy with my R5. For me, I feel my money is better spent on good glass that complements my shooting style and genres.

I bought a new LP-E6P battery to be used in my R6... ;)

I had to purchase a new Photography book release "Uncommon" as it contains four of my photographs.

I was finally able to purchase the Canon RF 200-800mm lens which has been pretty much on back order all year. I requested an alert from Canon Price Watch a few months ago. Sure enough yesterday I got a message that an authorized Canon dealer in Canada had it at $1899 and was including free shipping and no collection of my state sales tax (8.25%). And this morning my wife informed me my IRA distribution hit our bank so I had more than enough to buy the lens. The reviews I have seen have given the lens decent marks. It isn't perfect but hopefully will be good enough for my long range shots. I will sell my RF 800mm f/11 lens now.

I tend to like a lens case for when I am on the go in a car or a flight and there isn't room for a big lens like the 200-800mm in my gear bag. The one for this lens from Canon is expensive at $159. I found this one on Amazon and ordered it using points I had accumulated with my Amazon Visa card. I kind of like that it's big enough for my camera withe vertical battery grip as well.

Makes no sense that Canon does not machine the lens foot mount to be a Swiss Arca style like the 3rd party manufactures do. I found this one online at Amazon. It has 2 screws to secure it tightly and keep it from twisting. Only $20 but why a $1900 dollar lens doesn't include it is crazy.

I agree! It would be so easy to do, it makes no sense that they don’t. My Sigma 150-600 is the same way! Grrrrr.

I agree, but if they had an Arca Swiss style foot on the lens the 7 Manfrotto mount users in the world would complain. Can't make everyone happy..... :D

No offense intended for Manfrotto Quick release users out there...I used to be one of you.

Here's a thought , they could make the foot easily changeable and you could order the foot you wanted when you buy the lens.

Today, trading a R5 and a OMS OM-1 in on a second R5 MkII tomorrow.
