The two moorhen chicks I have been watching are doing well. They have survived another week. Taken on an EOS R5 with 100-400 mm Mark II.

Gorgeous shots Simon. Glad that they are doing well. I spotted 4 on a pool recently but wasn't close enough to get a nice shot like these.
 
Thanks, there are three breeding pairs in the loch. Two nests are well hidden in the reeds and although I can see them, they’re not close enough to get any decent photos. This nest is only a few metres from the path however. There were originally four chicks but two didn’t survive. Foxes, gulls or the heron got them I suspect. I can sit for ages watching them. Mum is busy building another nest just now, so I will be keeping an eye on that too.
