Postcard from America. This one comes from NASA's Kennedy Space Center Complex on Merritt Island, Florida, United States.

Phil and Karen
1. Having transited smoothly down to Florida the previous day (witnessing a night-time space rocket launch from our hotel roof top 'space bar' by way of a stunning welcome!), we were relishing the prospect of an enjoyable (if pulverisingly hot) visit to one of our 'bucket list' venues. (We were not disappointed).
2. With self-guided tours through the site beginning as early as 1963, the visitor centre complex opened in 1967, hosing 500,00 visitors that year. Every step of our visit had us marvelling in awe and delight - beginning with a 'chat session' with NASA Astronaut Bill S McArthur Jr. (and what an absolute gold star he is).
3. Our shuttle bus tour took us past the gargantuan Vehicle Assembly Building and the huge, but still under construction, Artemis Mobile Launch Tower.
4. The first stop was the recently re-opened Gantry at LC-39.
5. Importantly, this afforded us our first glimpse of the SpaceX Crew-11 dragon rocket we were due to see launch the following day (or so we believed!).
6. The second leg took us back past the NASA Launch Control Centre and over to the Apollo/ Saturn V Centre. To be continued...
