Salsify, the dark edition

As I said in the previous post, this looks like a giant dandelion, but an image search identified it as Salsify. It is about 3" wide, significantly larger than what we see in the pavement cracks! I photographed it in a controlled environment, and the image you see is focus-stacked in Photoshop. This time, against a darker background.

I'm not sure which I like more - dark or light?

The light one has a more prominent stem - have you considered highlighting the stem a wee bit more in the dark one? I'm not sure if that makes or breaks the image, but that was my first thought.

Regardless, they are both great pics.

Thanks, Craig. The stem has a masked adjustment layer to pull it from total darkness. I kept it faintly visible to provide a slight support to the globe on top. I may try brightening it and see how it talks to me.
 
X2 on the dark one. Both are very well done. The dark one pops a little more. My 2 cents.
