A nice camera specially if you want to save some money
Pros
  • Excellent Auto Focus
  • Good Low Light Performance
  • 20 fps with the electronic shutter
  • In-Body Image Stabilization (IBIS)
  • 4K Video Capabilities
  • Compact and Lightweight
  • Articulated Touchscreen
  • Lower Price than the R6 Mark II
Cons
  • Overheating in Video Recording
  • Battery Life
I bought the Canon R6 in 2024 to replace my Canon R7. After researching the market, I decided to go with the R6 instead of the R6 Mark II. Why not the R6 Mark II? Price. While the Mark II offers notable improvements, particularly in video features, as a photographer, I found that the R6 suited my needs perfectly while saving me some money.

From the very first moment, the autofocus on this camera impressed me—especially the Eye AF when shooting portraits.

A common criticism I’ve seen is the 20MP resolution. However, this hasn’t been an issue for me, even as a wildlife photographer who crops heavily. Once you understand the limits of how far you can crop, 20MP still provides plenty of room to maintain decent image quality. On the plus side, the lower resolution requires less processing power from your computer and takes up less storage space.

I purchased this camera and have found that all of the menu tabs that are shown in the manual do not appear on mine eg: customization and the star. Also when I go to t=other tabs there are items missing. Please help I have been trying and asking these questions and haven't gotten an answer, thank you.

Hi Dee dee,
Your gueston has been sended long time ago, so you have maybe solved this problem sooner or later.
If not, this is the reason: your R6 is keeping A+ (automatic mode). Change exposure mode.
For example Tv, Av, M or P will give you all menu tabs.
Regards Heikki
