    Peak Design Tripod

I was waffling too. The price seemed to be the stumbling block for me, but after a long search, I decided the difference between what is out there for small and light weight, the Peak Design won out. Terrific engineering and construction and like Hali, the ball head took some getting used to...

    RF 15-35 f2.8 or RF 16mm f2.8?

Thanks...I'm looking forward to having it in my bag. I like the 16mm, but I think having more flexibility in range with the same f stop will be more fun.

    RF 15-35 f2.8 or RF 16mm f2.8?

FWIW, I’ll be following up my question with a review of my new ‘to me’ RF 15-35mm lens. EBay buy, couple of grand, but complete. I’ll let you know.

    RF 15-35 f2.8 or RF 16mm f2.8?

You cracked me up! I’ve only had the 16mm for a few months and it works great, but it may be that I look for more flexibility in a lens, maybe too much gear head and not enough artist…I don’t know. That’s why I asked!

    RF 15-35 f2.8 or RF 16mm f2.8?

I shoot with an EOS R. For wide angle, I have an RF 16mm f2.8 and an EF 24mm f1.4. I’m considering an RF 15-35mm f2.8 and selling the 16mm. Currently there are 54 RF 15-35 lenses on eBay. That many for sale makes me think this isn’t a good idea. Anyone have thoughts?

Wow…great shots. I especially like the P-51 with the explosion in the backdrop. Really well timed!!!!

    Best wide angle

I think the RF 16mm f2.8 is a terrific lens for the money. If you want something faster, I use an EF 24mm f1.4 that is terrific as well, but for vlogging the f1.4 might not have the depth you desire. With that much glass, you’ll have options. Please be sure to post what you decide, I’ll be...

    Slow shutter speed with water

I like both of these images. I wonder if the 1/13th image would have more impact if there was a backdrop like the far bank to give it some relativity. Cool shots!

Funny…I didn’t see the car until you mentioned it.

Spider webs in the morning dew and fog.

I’ve always loved dewy webs and you captured this one well. I was pleased to see your control of the depth concentrated the image so well. My first thought was f11 would have given a deeper field. Is the length of the lense in this case helping with depth control here?

    Lonesome Bloom

Great shot! You’ve been able to see the simple beauty of progress amid the struggle to survive. I love the clarity, almost chaotic backdrop to the focus. You nailed the depth of field and I think the slight movement of the water keeps the reflection from distracting from the subject. Good eye!

What is not in the picture

I think all of our shots have merit. This shows to me that something we drive by and take for granted has its own intrinsic beauty. You saw something and have been able to remind us that when we look, we must see. I think what appears to be a gate on the left gives the scene good credibility...
  13. Canon RF 16mm F2.8 STM

Review by 'rssquire' on item 'Canon RF 16mm F2.8 STM'

I just took delivery of this terrific lense. I bought to try Astro, but found it great for landscape as well. I’m still struggling a little with focus in Astro, but the auto functions during daylight are perfect and accurate. I like the focus ring in manual, it’s smooth and accurate when in...

    Cancun Skys

I like your shot. My eye is drawn to the drama of the sky and since you have captioned the picture 'Cancun Skys', I see no need to draw detail out of the foreground. Having said that, I wonder if the building details are resident in the original capture. If so, by drawing more clarity there...

    Thanks for the add!

My name is Rob and I reside in Northern California. I’m reviving a long dormant hobby with my new Canon R. It sports an RF 24-105mm f4 and a newRF 16mm f2.8. The detail is amazing and the competency of the system takes some guesswork away. I look forward to our growth together. The yacht is...
