    Mammals  Hyenas

One of the most aggressive animals we observed in Kenya is the hyena. Hyenas will sometimes chase lions from their kill to get a meal for themselves. We encountered several during our safari, mostly roaming the desert. One was eating a meal it recently caught early evening so the light was...

New RF 100-500 for my Wife

Hi All, I just thought I would post that we bought a second RF 100-500 for Gail, my wife. She was using the adapted EF 100-400 II and 1. felt it was heavier on her R7 than my 100-500 and she missed the extra reach. Sold the 5 1/2 year old 100-400 to MPB for about $850. We are now completely...

Birds  Juvenile Bald Eagle In Field

Here is a second image from the encounter we had a few days ago with the juvenile bald eagle near our Corning NY home. It was certainly looking for prey, but we didn’t see any sign of it. General Full-Frame  Is The Artic Butterfly Safe For R5 and R7?

In my DSLR days I routinely cleaned my sensor with the Artic Butterfly. Our R5 and R7 seem to get a lot less dust and the built in cleaning cycle seems to do a good job. However, if we do get dust that hangs around is it safe to use the Artic Butterfly on the sensor?

Focus Point Moves When I don't Want It To

This may have been covered before, but I didn't find it. I use one of the back buttons for back button focus single point. I want the point to be in the center of the frame all the time. However my nose or something else seems to move it to other locations when I don't want it to. I have...

    Fall Colors & Car

I went out the other day to try to get some images of fall colors. In our neck of the woods the “good colors” are few and rare. So, when I finally found some suitable subjects I decided to spice it up a bit and add my “Baby” to the scene. Canon R5 with RF 100-500 @100. I particularly used...

    Chionodoxa In My Yard

Each year we get a bloom of these little flowers in both white and these blue/purple colors. I believe they are Chionodoxa and stand only 1-2 inches high. They only stay around for about a month. We always enjoy it when they sprout as it is a sure sign of spring. R5with 100-500 @ 300.
