Use R6 as example.
Is HDR the same as exposure bracketing but done “in camera” whereas bracketing done post and merged in editing software?

Or not that simple.

If it is I guess you have to have T6 set for jpeg as that’s what’s created with hdr in camera

That's basically it. If you are happy with the in-camera HDR then this will save you a lot of work in post. But if you prefer more control then you might still want to shoot raw and bracket manually, but then you'll also need to stitch everything together in post.
