Are you an opportunistic shooter?

I do a bit of both, sometimes a planned shoot with a specific subject in mind, sometimes just head out and see what i see

I'm standing by the idea that by simply bringing a camera with a lens selected for a subject or range of subjects, expected or otherwise, is sufficient "planning" to eliminate any idea of opportunism.

Nah. I don't go places to take pictures, I take the camera because I'm going somewhere. I might have a vague idea of what I'm looking for, but the primary objectives in heading out are "mental housecleaning", exercise me and exorcise The Hellbeast (see avatar). Sometimes I don't even bother bringing the camera. Even if I do, sometimes it doesn't come out of the bag - and that's ok too.

I don't plan what equipment to bring - I have all of two lenses and they're always in the bag. The only "planning" I might do would be to decide whether I'm bringing the sling or the backpack - depending on how long I'm planning on being out.
