Hi all,

I shoot manual with auto iso on my R5 Mkii, in the past if i changed the ISO, after a short time it returned to auto, however it has stopped doing that and remains at whatever ISO i last shot. I am sure have changed a setting somewhere that has changed it from returning to auto iso, but cannot seem to find it again.

Any help really appreciated as it is driving me mad

Mark.

This is much like Bryan's suggestion to look at your custom, 'C' settings.

Are you shooting on manual mode -- 'M' mode on the dial? You can set ISO to auto there, and if you do it will stay there until you change it to something else. If you're using a 'C' setting that's configured to auto ISO, then change it to a specific value for a specific shot, it will stay there as long as the camera is awake and set to that specific 'C' mode. If the camera goes to sleep, or gets turned off, or you switch to another mode, then the 'C' mode you were on will revert to its original, programmed settings.

If you're shooting in 'M' mode, all settings stay in place until you manually change them to something else. That's why I like 'C' modes. If I'm tweaking settings for a specific shot, I can get back to the original settings by going C1 -> C2 -> C1. Now things like auto ISO go back to its original setting.
