Playing with black and white for some of the portraits I took the other day of my friend and her triplet sisters who are turning 80. I mostly use Lightroom so I tried some of the presets and found that one called "B&W Urban" under Portraiture that I liked. I'm going to play around later with NIK Silver Effects.

All very nice, out of the three, for me I like the last one best. Little more 'fun' I know they are triplets but did you 'stack' them by time born?

Great stuff. You might like to have a look at a rabbit hole I've been down in the last few days...

I recently listened to a podcast about Yousef Karsh, the great Armenian/Canadian portrait photographer. It was produced by the Empire podcast, which is mainly about the history of the British Empire, but it recently did a mini series on important photographers. Well worth checking out.

I can 100% guarantee you've seen some of his work - he produced many of the most iconic b&w images of the most important figures of the 20th century. You can review his work here: https://karsh.org/

There's an excellent discussion of his style and techniques he used to create it here: https://www.aci-iac.ca/art-books/yousuf-karsh/style-and-technique/

Hope that's of some interest... ;-)
