Can anyone suggest a good replacement? I have a Sirui Tripod with the 20 ballhead. Looking for something smooth

I have a Sirui Tripod with a reall right stuff ball head. They are pricey but smooth!
I was looking at those, Which one didn't you get.. I also saw these ones called Flex Shooter while I was out photographing owls. Two guys each had them and they looked good.

I have both the BH-40 and the 55. I like the 55 because it barely slips with a big lens on it but the 40 is much smaller and light weight

So many good options, we are lucky.
Sirui, Feisol (my choice) RRS, Vanguard, 3 Legged thing..... The thing II like about Feisol products is you get nearly the quality of Really Right Stuff at 1/3 the price. You know to size up with a ballhead right? Sagging under weight is the worst

I have the Sirui A-1005 I think tripod is strong enough for my R5 and 600mm don't know much about ballheads.

This is my choice. I have used it in extreme conditions for years without an issue. Go ahead and get a Gitzo or RRS, but you can get the same functionality for hundreds less. Feisol is not like Benro or Manfrotto... it's top shelf quality at reasonable prices. Ok, I'm done, better scram before I become the Feisol fanboi on RFShooters or something.

I have owned and used extensively an Acratech GP ballhead on my Giottos tripod for the past 10 years. I have not regretted the purchase and it still looks and operates like it is new. I still like my tripod (purchased at the same time), but haven't used it much since I bought my R5 since I can crank the ISO or trust the IBIS and don't need to use the tripod to shoot the way I did with my old setup.

Well thats good to know! Have only taken my R5 out once so far.

Nothing but compliments for Kirk’s BH-1. I’ve been using this on a Feisol CT-3472 tripod for about 10 years and it held up to anything I’ve thrown at it.

Fast, sharp, and lightweight! A great lens
This is my main workhorse of a lens and I love it. It's very light weight (only around 2.3 lbs) lens. I've been able to hand-hold it for an event...

A good lens for what it does, with it's drawbacks
I have had this lens since it came out and it is my lightweight go to lens for walking around in the city and using my infrared-converted camera...
