Sounds like this only applies to Sand Disk cards used in the R5 mkII?

I use the SanDisk Extreme Pro UHS-II V60 and V90 in my R6 mkII and my RP, and my Black Magic PCC4K and my DJI Drone (micro SD). Haven't had any problems. Seems like it's the camera then.

Canon needs to get their firmware in order.

Received this from Canon USA this morning. Not an issue for me, but may be for some.

Not much information at the link - it's essentially a note letting you know that certain cards can result in corrupt images, so don't use them (Doc, it hurts when I do this. - Then don't do that!).
Well I've checked and I don't have the cards on the list.

On a slightly different note, I don't recall where I read this, but the advice was, once photos and/or video has been downloaded from the card to an external source, when putting the card back in the camera perform a format on the card. Apparently this helps to prevent the card becoming "corrupted". I have been doing this with my current card(s) for about 15 months or so with no issues. Does anyone else do the same?

I always format my cards in the camera after copying the images to my pc/importing into Lightroom Classic. I basically never delete any images using the camera as well. I have been following this practice since my first Canon DSLR in 2003. I have never had a flash card fail, but I can't specifically attribute a lack of failure to any practice of mine. I had a conversation with a SanDisk engineer at a PPA Imaging USA many years ago and he told me that was the safest way to treat my cards.

I'll ditto that. I always format the cards when I put them back in the cameras. I haven't had a problem. Of course now that I've said this it will probably all change. 😯

That would be sods law wouldn't it.
Been using SanDisk cards for the last 10 years, never had an issue.
It's funny how you become loyal to one brand isn't it? I use SanDisk cards in my phone, tablet and in my dashcams. I have had a corrupted card in my dashcam in the past, but I believe that was because I formatted it on my pc. I now allow which ever device is using a memory card to format the card in situ.

Used to be loyal to Sandisk, but was recommended the Kingstons by a couple of friends so now have a pair of them also, again no issues.

Again, loyalty is a strange thing. If I was considering storage for a pc, then I would opt for Kingston over Sandisk. :D
