Canon has today announced the EOS R5C.

The EOS R5C delivers unlimited recording time in any mode up to 8K/60p, thanks to its internal active cooling system. It can also capture high frame rates up to 4K/120p in 4:2:2 10-bit color, without a sensor crop, while maintaining full autofocus operation. It's also the first Canon camera to provide internal 8K/60p recording using Cinema Raw Light.

Please see the DPReview article for further details:

And if you are curious about how it compares to the R5, then DPReview also have a comparison article:

You might also find this video from Jordan and Chris helpful:

I think that this R5C does not come with IBIS and is more expensive. So not good if you are a stills image user. Surely if you are really into video you would use a specific video camera. I've never really used my 5D SLR's and now mirror-less R5 for video.

Looks like a great camera for the video centric that also want a still camera as well. I think the price is pretty good too.

Canon’s spec for the R5C describes image stabilisation as follows:
“5-axis Electronic IS. Coordinates with supported lenses featuring optical-IS for optimal performance.” Not IBIS, but enhanced lens IS?

I have a similar approach to Ken, making only limited use of the video facility of my DSLRs & now R6. However, I do find it useful to have the video capability to hand rather than needing a separate video camera as in the past.

its is rare for me to use the video on my R5 but once in a while I will make a short video of less than two minutes, usually of wildlife.
