I took the new-to-me lens for a spin today along the Sacramento River. What I'm finding out about vintage lenses is that Canon's focus peaking works better with some than with others. Edited with DxO Photolab 9 and FilmPack Time Machine. The last photo is the Cornish House near Clarksburg.

I enjoyed looking at these pictures, and especially reading about George Cornish and his life. Very interesting indeed. I delved into FD mount lenses for a while after I bought my EOS R, but eventually sold them. I never owned the 24mm as I never found one at a good price here in Germany. They were always 350€ +. I had the 28mm nFD and liked it, but the image quality of my modern lenses was so much better that I decided to sell it. But, I 100% understand why people like using legacy lenses. There is something special about using the old lenses in my opinion.

It is amazing how much old lenses cost. From a local camera store. (Originally in the $400 price range.)

The most I’ve spent on a single vintage lens is $400 for a Pentax 645 35mm f/3.5. I recently got this 28mm Minolta for $15.00 from Goodwill. The image looks good, but I don’t know what the actual condition is yet.

I can help you break your record if you want to have the lens above delivered to my house for you to pick up when you come to Germany later this year! It would save you on international shipping!!! :ROFLMAO:
