Canon USA does have a refurb site for ALL of their gear (cameras, lenses, speedlites, etc). I would presume that Canon UK would have a comparable site.
Over Thanksgiving and again at Christmas the Canon USA refurb store had some killer deals. Are there any upcoming holidays which are likely to yield those deals? The RF24-70/2.8 was insanely low ($13xx) and I'd love to find it again at that price. It's currently $1799 refurb which is still very good. If the crazy prices won't happen again until 4th of July or Labor day, I may as well go ahead and buy one now.
Also recommend checking out www.cpricewatch.com. Not affiliated but I have bought two bodies through them from two different resellers and both were extremly smooth transactions.
I concur. I've yet to join the world of R (EF and M only so far) but will be pre-ordering the R5Mk2.
If I limit myself to two lenses, which two?
I'm thinking 200-800 and 10-20...I know the former would get used on a regular basis (birding) but worry about how much I NEED the 10-20.
I know this: if you haven't shot with the M6MkII through the EF-M 11-22 lens...well in my view that combination was (and remains) essential for a lot of family/vacation/travel pics.
I look forward to getting the R5MkII in my hands to see just how it feels in my hands; I very much like the compact size and light weight of the Ms.
@josephandrews222 Get yourself an EF-RF adaptor and you can use all your current EF lenses that might ease your lens dilemma. Nowadays I have only three lenses EF 500mm f4., RF100-500 and RF200-800. oops I forgot I also have an EF 85mm f1.8 that never gets used. My shorter lenses were all stolen and I realised how little use they were getting and haven't replaced them.
Only you can decide but for me my iPhone suffices for holiday snaps.
