Deleting text

OS = Mac Sonoma 15.1

At one time when I wanted to delete something I would left click and scroll over it. It highlighted that text. About a month ago or maybe more it stopped doing that. It still works on Apple Pages (word document) and other forums I visit so I don't think is an OS issue. It's not a big deal. Mostly a minor irritant. Not sure if you are aware of it.

Does the text "Delete Me" appear or is it gone?

EDIT: I am assuming you are referring to these message. Using your method I can delete the "Delete Me" text, both before posting and after posting. Windows 11 method: highlight the text and press the Delete Key.

I see it.

Here is a screen shot of a Pages document that I scrolled over. Orange for this app. This appears everywhere else but just a different highlight colour depending on the site/app.

This is scrolling at RF Shooters. I scrolled over "going to test" but it didn't highlight it.

I am going to test this out.

When I used the cut command I got this so it does work.

I am this out.

When your are typing and deleting, moving sentences, etc it slows you down a bit. You don't get a visual reference to what you scrolled over.

I use a Black background and the highlighted text doesn't show at all. I wonder if it has to do with the new Forum software update?

Might be that. Something simple my guess. Here is the Lightroom Queen site in dark mode. I know it used to show here in dark mode.

Quite interesting, until I began testing the highlighted text in Dark was the same color as Dark
