After download I only got DPP 4.20.10., not 4.20.20. ????

This is what I have

I see the issue. I'm using Mac and you are likely using Windows. I was not aware version numbers were different. I'll correct that.

Yeap, I'm on Win so that might be the reason I get a different version. Thanks.

Thanks for this - I keep getting an error message telling me something from Canon has a certificate that’s about to expire - or some such nonsense - but “helpfully” it doesn’t tell me if it’s DPP or Professional Print and Layout Manager (for my printer).

Maybe this will make it go away.

Mac or PC?

Mac.

I downloaded and installed the update, so far, so good. I haven’t tried Print and Layout Manager yet. Might behoove me to check for a new version there, too.

I was poking around the Canon site and found tutorial videos for DPP…and noticed that they were all 10 years old. 🙄

I did find a manual for DPP that seems like it’s been updated at least relatively recently, since it mentions the R5II.

Canon is very slow with maintaining DPP.

So you’re saying software isn’t a priority with camera companies??? 😱

I always picture the software division at camera companies to be two part time guys in a dusty back office deep in the bowels of the corporate offices.

Terrible piece of software.

It great for reviewing and culling images after a shoot, for me it's one of the best. But beyond I would have to agree, I can't use it for post. If you don't have a strong system the software is just burdensome.

Yes. I just use it to cull unwanted files. I keep it up to date to see if there will be a surprise one day.

I did the update and was truly surprised that is was still as bad as it was prior to the update

The only thing I'm interested in this is there were a few unsubstantiated whispers about Adobe adding true Canon Colors to their software. There was a brief mention of it last year at Adobe Max (I think) and a YouTube video that was in French. Something is going on between Canon and Adobe because since the R3 Adobe has been adding RAW support the day the R3 was shipped. R1 and R5II had it six weeks before shipping.

Not that you would see this in DPP, if it actually ever happens. There might be a new transfer tool but I have not seen anything. I'm not going to hold my breath and since the addition of Adobe Adaptive Color profile I'm not sure I care now if that happens.

DPP Quick Check - Full Screen is terrific for hobby shooter culling. Shows files as finished Jpegs so easy to pick out unwanted files and it's free.

Actually I'm an Adobe Photoshop fan with a subscription pending and always get an upgrade via Creative Cloud when applicable. Always regarded PS as an "industrial standard" among all the editing programs available on the market. Though YMMV. The only reason I have Canon's DDP coz Photoshop still can not show that little square where the focus point was on my pictures. Can be sometimes useful, but my experience in the last four years with my EOS R6 MK1 the OOF is something of the past, while 99.99% of the cases my pictures are dead sharp, yet the 0.01% is always my fault. Just my 2 cents. :)

Fast, sharp, and lightweight! A great lens
This is my main workhorse of a lens and I love it. It's very light weight (only around 2.3 lbs) lens. I've been able to hand-hold it for an event...
