DXO always has a summer sale. Like PF said PL9 will be out in late Sept, early October. In order to get PL9 for free you have to purchase PL8 within thirty days of the PL9 release. Good deal if you can skip a year and use PL8 till 2026. FIY. When PL10 comes out in 2026 it will be cost more to upgrade from 8 to 10 than it will from 9 to 10. I don't know by how much.

I don't think PL8 will be available for BF sale after the release of PL9. As I recall once a new version is released then the previous version is no longer available for sale. There will definitely be BF sales for PL9.

One thing that DXO changed which is better for the customer. If you purchase PL9 you will get the new Denoise features released with PureRaw 6 that will come out n March of 2026. Several years ago customers had to wait until the fall release of the PL and purchase it to get those new features.

Just in case if I got any of this wrong let me know and I'll correct it. I wish I had of taken the time or someone had explained some of these things and it's just not for DXO. Surprises can be no fun.
