Today was the first time since the end of 2019 that I have been to a dog competition and took several hundred photos. It is the first time that I have used my R6 and RF lenses at a show. Its all very hectic with perhaps a dozen or so dogs working at any one time, so little time for changing settings etc and I was just constantly moving, taking photos with lots of different subjects. So I just used AV or TV. With my 7D mk 2 or my 5D mk 5 I had good high keeper rates. IO could always find the subject and taking the photos was straight forward. The keeper I took today were fine, and i was very pleased with them. However, the show was in the middle of a field with no shade, so in full sun, and this gave me issues with both the EVF and the screen. Quite simply I could see bugger all because of the sunlight. Using the screen I could make out the subject but just could not see whether the focus square was on target, blue or red. Very disappointing for my type of photography.
