  1. Yes
By image height, it looks like patent applications for APS-C lens designs:
  • 15-70mm F2.8-4 IS
  • 15-70mm F4 IS
  • 15-85mm F2.8-5.6 IS
  • 16-85mm F2.8-5.6 IS
Unfortunately all of these are the kind that requires lens-correction at the wide end. But I guess I will have to learn to live with that ....

Google translate:

Personally all three designs going down to 15mm in the wide end sounds interesting to me. I really hope one of these will materialize and end in front of my camera.

Going after the second body for the full framers crowd. Once you have 24 available at the wide end, it’s hard to go back!

Frankly, I would buy that 15-85 F2.8-5.6 IS at the drop of a hat. The 15-70 F4 IS wouldn’t be far behind either! I loved my old EF-S 15-85 on my 7D II. However on my R7 with the adapter it is simply too big and clunky.

The 15-70 f4 and the 70-200 f4 would make a really nice two lens travel kit. Hmmm....

Fast, sharp, and lightweight! A great lens
This is my main workhorse of a lens and I love it. It's very light weight (only around 2.3 lbs) lens. I've been able to hand-hold it for an event...
