One feature on R5 was very interesting, and yesterday wedding shoot I finally got to see how well it works, and it seems to be as good as promised.

The ambience priority flash mode keeps the flash power low, doesn't restrict ISO and in general makes pictures much more natural instead of making them look like flash-flooded.

Here's 2 pictures, one with my R5 and flash, other with my assistant with her 5D3 and 50/1.2. Both look good and nothing wrong with either one, but the R5 has more quality on the colors and will require less LR/PS work. All thanks to the ambience priority flash mode.

Which flash are you using? I just invested in the Westcott FJ80, was wondering if this feature will work with that flash our only with Canon flashes.

I have Canon flashes, but should work with any flash with ETTL.

I played around with it a little this morning and it did in fact work with the Westcott FJ80. A whole new world is open!! Thanks for bringing it up!!
