Hello folks,

I need to decide between these two flashes, Godox V100c or Canon EL-5 and I’m interested in your opinion on which one would be better to use with the Canon R6 Mark II + RF 24-70mm f/2.8 L. The price is currently fluctuating between these two models, so I need to make a decision... Thank you in advance!

While I am a big fan of Godox flashes and their off-camera flash triggering system, I would buy the EL-5 if cost were not an issue. I currently own the Godox V860iii flash and love it. The V100 has more power than the EL-5 or my V860iii, but I don't need more power.
The other reason I would buy the EL-5 is that it has the multi-function hotshoe that the R6 mark II has. I already had the V860iii when I bought my R6 mark II so I will keep it. I didn't like the feel of the flash in the R6 Mark II hotshoe because the dimensions are not the same. The flash will not "lock into place" and it was possible to not have it in the correct position and it wouldn't work. So, if you buy the V100 I highly recommend buying the Canon AD-E1 adapter that adapts the R6 mark II multi-function hot shoe to the older version hot shoe on the V100c.

But, in the end, the cost of the V100c and the ad-e1 adapter are very close to the current cost of the EL-5 here in Germany. If I didn't already have the V860iii I would definitely by the EL-5 over the Godox.

But....if you need the extra power of the V100 then the EL-5 is not a substitute.

@Bryan Conner Thank you for the detailed response... this really helped. At the moment, the 'Canon EL-5' is cheaper than the 'Godox V100c', I'm not sure why, but here's the price on Amazon:

I'm not sure if the 'Godox V100c' model includes any additional accessories for the flash at that price, while for the 'Canon EL-5', I'm not sure if anything extra is included or not? I also hope that both models are new and not used.
