Lovely shot! We've had a little snow over the weekend so had about 30 odd goldfinches in the garden yesterday. They are going through the sunflower hearts in no time at all!

I captured that one at Marchwiel Marshes which I didn't know existed until a few weeks ago even though its less than five miles from my home! The marshes are turning out to be a bit of a treasure of small birds. A few days previously I took a photo of this bird which I later learned was a rare, red-listed Redwing.

The marshes are turning out to be a bit of a treasure of small birds. A few days previously I took a photo of this bird which I later learned was a rare, red-listed Redwing.

It's always a bonus when you find somewhere close to home to shoot I've only spotted the redwings once, just randomly in a field near to where I used to live.
