Great grandson's first soccer match at age 4

We've been to plenty of soccer games for our grandchildren but this is a first for a great grandchild. He just turned 4, so we knew there wouldn't be a lot of game strategy but mostly little kids running up and down the field while they chased the ball. The field size is reduced, only about 40 feet from one goal to the other so it didn't take much effort to cover the field. I sat on the ground at the mid-point with the R6 MKII and RF 70-200mm f/4.

Our great grandson didn't get called out on the field until after about 15 minutes he went out, he got one kick on the ball and then attempted to pick it up. When he remembered he wasn't supposed to pick the ball up he burst into tears and left to go sit in his mom's lap. I went ahead and kept photographing the other players on their team. I usually do the team and then share a Flickr album with the other parents. One or two of the other kids were pretty good players for their age.

Love it! Number one grandson (7 in April) had his last day of junior cricket for the season on Saturday, so I now have several hundred pictures of his bowling and batting to wade through. He’ll be a good player, given time. His soccer season starts next week…
