...been a long, hot and humid summer in our area of the midwest USA.
Certainly more humid than 'normal'...that combined with the heat has, I think, enabled viewing of a wider variety of wildlife in the immediate area of our home, more than any time in the past four decades.
...someone smarter than me would've recognized this critter as a groundhog (new to my camera lens).
Alas, I needed Mr. Google's help...and I also learned that groundhogs are basically large squirrels.
I think this groundhog saw his shadow...meaning what exactly?!
