Going deeper into the forest.
The remains of an old truck bed are evidence of the area's former logging past.
What is now the Headwaters Forest Reserve was once home to the town of Falk. The old locomotive barn is the last remaining building accessible to the public (I've heard rumors there are still other buildings in off-limits areas of the forest). The barn has been repurposed as an interpretive center.
After all the residents of Falk moved out, a caretaker lived on the site to prevent trespassing. The caretaker's residence was torn down in the 1970s. The site of the house is now being reclaimed by the forest.
