Local Yellow-crowned Nigh Heron with dinner .... a "mudbug" or crawfish, crayfish, etc.
Another example of the low light capabilities of the Canon R5 when paired with the new RF100-500mm lens

I learned two things this morning after seeing one of these for the first time ever -

1) It is an “American Bittern”
2) Bitterns are part of the Heron family
