No way it's the R1, but I don't doubt that it's going to be a reality.
Honestly—I’m a mpxl fanatic. But with my 45 mpxl of greatness with my R5, I’ve reached the point of total satisfaction. The thought of 100 mpxls would’ve made me salivate a few short years ago. The R5 has satisfied my every desire in a camera.
 
The R5s (100mpx) would be 35mpx in 1.6 crop mode. Kinda like a supercharged R7.

Yes and the question remains whether the super small pixels of the R7 will require shooting at f/2 to dodge the effects of diffraction. Traditional wisdom suggested using smaller than f/11 with full frame and smaller than f/8 with APS-c but it will be interesting to see what the R7 teaches us about changing these to prevent Airy Disk overlap. The big question is whether such things will matter to regular people or only to pixel peepers.
