I remember when IBIS: High Resolution shooting (high resolution jpeg) was released with Firmware 1.8.0 there were photographers screaming I'll NEVER need a 400MB photograph and I refuse to update my firmware and/or the artifacting make for unusable photographs!

My first thought was... "I wonder what I can do with it?"

Sorry to see Canon drop pixel shift on the R5 Mark II (I do not have first hand experience of In-Camera Upscaling, which I am assuming is Canon's feature replacement, please correct me if I am incorrect)

File is a 501 MB jpeg.

…and if you zoom in, you see the weird, herringbone pattern in the water. The first thing I did when the FW update came out -and it said not to use it for moving objects- was use it on moving objects. 🤪

I think I tried it once more on a static scene and didn’t see what the hullabaloo was about and thus have completely forgotten about it. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’m much happier with the level of detail I get by focus stacking and movement is less of a concern, plus I get RAW images that way.

Fast, sharp, and lightweight! A great lens
This is my main workhorse of a lens and I love it. It's very light weight (only around 2.3 lbs) lens. I've been able to hand-hold it for an event...
