Hello all figured would post and ask few questions in hopes of getting different perspectives. So a few months ago had to sell all my equipment about 10k worth to pay bills. Would I shoot honestly not as much as would have likes so didnt see it as a huge loss. Then a family friend needed someone to shoot a quinceanera and had no one so I purchased the R100 with kit lense and damn it was hooked again. Haven't spend on anything else. Did not sell my flashs or reflectors. Have figured out want to do more portraits but dont know how go begin where to begin. Not looking to make money. Just want to do something to get mind off the regular stresses of like. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Would also love to take online classes but cant afford much 50 to 100 bucks. Any information suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I want something with assignments because feel like this is more likely to get me out and shooting than if have to do it on my own.

Hello. You can save a lot of money by just doing YouTube searches.

Since you kept your flashes there is the good old 3 point lighting process.

If you read any of Syl Arenas books (Speedligter's Handbook) he says controlling shadows is more important than the exposure itself.

When I shot weddings I set up a Photo Booth. Not an actual booth but just using one reflector umbrella, a flash set up higher and a backdrop. Had a box full of goofy things to wear. I marked the floor with a piece of tape so people stood at the right spot so I didn't have to reset the flash exposure.

My on camera flash guru. For on camera flash techniques this is all you will ever need. Start in the blue column on the right - Flash Photography techniques.

I have posted this at other sites and the critics question the math. Don't worry about the math part. It's about understating how to control your flash for the look you want. I think every serious flash photographer should know this.

Good luck
