  1. Yes
Myself usually solo other than trusty hound. Enjoy serenity.

But yesterday went to a waterfall with a mate from camera club really enjoyed it.

Storm chasing again solo but cross paths with other guys

Equine etc at shows other photographers but give each other space not much interaction.

I also go solo, enjoy serenity, quiet and moving at my own pace. I went out with some friends a couple times and it was fun but they missed a couple cool shots because they were moving to quick.

Walked right past this guy.

Most of the time, it's just me and the Hellbeast, but occasionally my wife joins me - makes it a bit easier if one of us keeps an eye on the dog, while the other shoots. (The dog is pretty good about waiting around while I shoot but I do have to keep an eye out for other trail users - she's a bit "overenthusiastic" when it comes to greeting people and not everyone has a sense of humor about such things. 🤨)

There's a camera club that meets at the nature conservancy right around the corner from me, but as a lifelong practitioner of antisocial distancing, I have refrained from joining. That would mean, like, talking to people and stuff. <shudder>

Usually just my wife and I (admittedly her landscape work far surpasses mine), other than when it's racing and then just me - I tend to get a little 'anxious' around groups of people which is why I love the trackside work - fence between me and crowds.

About half of the time I shoot with my wife, and I love her company, but I do prefer working on my own - just me. I tend to look at a subject for a long time before pressing the shutter button, looking for different angles and viewpoints, and that makes me feel like I'm holding any companion back. By myself, early mornings, I'm the happiest.

If you're a social person, then it is way more fun to go out with others, as long as they are photographers and not people who get impatient as you wait for the special moment for the perfect picture. The photogs who go out with you can be very helpful, by sharing techniques and by spotting critters or scenes that you missed.

On the other hand, those others might distract you from your artistic visions. So depending on the situation, your productivity might be better if you go out on your own.

Myself, I usually go out with photog friends and acquaintances. That works real well for nature outings. For studio shoots it is similar, but my best results come when I shoot alone.

Just me and the wildlife.
And most of them run off as soon as they notice me.

Solo preferred or with one friend who also has a camera.

With my wife I don't expect to take morning shots in the desert until about Noon. One photo, and it's "Are you done yet?"

My preferred mode when I am at home is solo. I can move at my own pace. When I'm on vacation it's with my husband so it's always the two of us photographing and we bounce ideas and angles off each other. We spent a month in Newfoundland doing that and it was fun. Sometimes I will go out with camera club friends but I often feel like I'm dragging them down since I can stay in an area for long periods of time just discovering things.

I'm mostly solo as I try to get out and shoot a few days a week. But I also go out with friends in our photography club on photo walks and field trips once a month or so.
