Who has done an IR or Full Spectrum conversion for their cameras?

I have and RP that I'm thinking about sending to Kolari Vision for an IR or FS conversion.

Since I have an R6mkII the RP gets left behind. Seems like it would be a good candidate for conversion.

Did you find that it was worthwhile? Any tips or comments on the conversions?

I converted one of my spare M5 mirrorless cameras a couple years ago, I went with a 590 nm infrared conversion as I wanted to be able to shoot with a bit of infrared color but also for B&W with the 720 nm and 850nm filters. I used Life Pixel with a Christmas sale they had and have been happy with it. At the time full frame was the Canon R. In looking back, that would have been cool to convert but timing wise I wasn't ready for a FF upgrade yet. I do like that the M5 is pretty small and light so I often take it with the EF-M 22mm lens with my R6 MKII for visible spectrum shooting, it's fun to compare similar scenes shot with both cameras.

I have done many conversions over the years to my cameras, I've done 550, 590, 720 and 850 and they were all fun but for some reason or another I've passed them on (except for an old 720nm 7D). My latest is a full spectrum conversion and I wouldn't go back to having a fixed nm again. I am currently using an original R6, but my last was the RP which, like you had been left behind when I upgraded. My only reason for trading the Full Spectrum RP for the R6 is the weather sealing. I sometimes like to go out in inclement weather and I was very loathe to bring the RP when it was going to rain. I have less of a worry with the R6. If you don't worry about that then definitely do the RP as a full spectrum. The ability to swap, on the fly, to any spectrum including Kolari's IRChrome and Lifepixels Hypercolor is just too fun. That being said, most of the time I shoot with a 720nm internal filter because that's where I started. It's also worthwhile to invest in a good set of filters.
