I am on the Oregon Coast and it's after 8:30 pm and I'd rather be in the motel room sleeping. Rather than looking for a composition, I set the camera 20 feet outside the room and snap away with my cheapest lens at a ridiculously high ISO.

Didn't bother with noise reduction in post either.

Lazy.

A neat image! I see a few light streaks. Must be satellites.

Also it is cool to do astronomy with a macro lens - while I sometimes do macro work with a 500mm tele.

500mm is great for deep sky. I have tried it once, since I don't have a tracker it's 5 shots, recenter, 5 shots, recenter, repeat, repeat, repeat. Then Dark, Bias, Dark Flats frames and stack.
