Birds Nesting moorhens

There are several moorhen nests in my local pond. This is the first lot of eggs to hatch with two chicks keeping their parents busy. Taken on an R6 with a Sigma 150-600 C lens. The first photo is of a nest I can’t see into but the eggs have hatched. It was a dull, cold and wet day so the chicks were not venturing out of the nest.

Thanks Mara, they are real characters. Usually quite nervous of people but as long as you are careful you can get reasonably close. I will post some more of them soon.
