I currently have a monthly subscription for Abobe; I only use Photoshop (never got used to or cared much for Lightroom). Years ago I had the standalone version of Noisware. My older version of Noisware is not compatible with my current OS, and I don't want to pay a monthly subscription just to use it just a few times.

I currently ownt the following cameras;

- Canon R6II
- Sony A7c
- Sony A7iv
- OM System OM-5

Any alternatives for either a plugin or stand alone noise reduction program I can buy outright without having to subscribe to

If you are shooting RAW PS has a denoise option that works pretty well.

Fix The Photo has a pretty good list. In the past, I've used Photoshop, Lightroom ($240 per year), and Luminar Neo, but last year I settled on DxO PhotoLab. The noise reduction is outstanding, and their PureRAW product uses the same engine but costs $100 less than the full editor.

+2 for DxO PureRaw. But if you have a Photoshop subscription, does the CameraRaw(?) denoise not meet you're needs? If you have an older version of Photoshop, use the trial of DxO PureRaw (or any other) to ensure that it fits into your workflow.

Well that counts out Topaz because they went subscription. ON1 NoNoise is a stand alone app but it also has Tack Sharp. I got it for about $45 US. I didn't get for noise reduction because I prefer Adobe Denoise AI for the workflow. I don't use Tack Sharp often but it is there if I need it.

I had NoNoise before Adobe introduced Denoise AI. It didn't have Tack Sharp back then but I liked the results.

You have Canon's DPP which has ok noise reduction. It definitely isn't on the same level as the current version of ACR in Lightroom/Photoshop, or of DXO, but it is free and it works. I suppose Sony and OM have similar free software as well.

Which version of Photoshop do you have and which OS are you using? That info might help someone with ideas.

DXO Pure RAW is the reigning champion. Both for price, ease of use, and results. You actually GAIN image quality from using it, restoring color and detail, even at base ISO. There's no situation where the NR is destructive to quality unless you crank both sliders to max. It also has great lens corrections, including distortion correction that can widen wider lenses if there's extra image outside of the regular framing that average software (including Canon's) cuts off. Adds 1-2mm at 10mm to the RF-S 10-18!

It would be nice to be able to access better lens corrections especially since neither Adobe nor DPP seems to make any difference with my RF 16-28mm f2.8 STM!
